DUB-Russell’s Yotaro Shuto has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the 2020 Beat-Machine, a next generation beat machine and real-time compositions.

The 2020 Beat-Machine is meant to simplify the production process by reducing functions of a beat maker to a single screen. The interface is modeled after the sci-fi example of a spaceship monitor, placing everything a musician would need to play live side-by-side.

There are also plans for a recording format that will allow users to overdub other’s songs and sync with other gear. As far as progress, the beat machine is about 40 per cent done, but still needs help to complete development.

According to Shuto’s plan, the final version is expected to be release later this fall, but the details, along with sound samplers and the actual Kickstarter campaign itself, can be accessed here.
