The xx have added more gigs at O2 Academy Brixton for their 2017 UK tour, breaking the record for longest run of gigs by a band at the famed venue.

From March 8 to 11 and 13 to 15, Jamie, Romy and Oliver will play to just under 35,000 fans at the South London spot.

The 5,000-capacity venue has seen Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Rammstein and Hard-Fi play five consecutive nights before, while comedians The Mighty Boosh played seven straight in 1998.

The rest of The xx’s UK tour includes shows in Nottingham, Cardiff and Manchester.

Their forthcoming album ‘I See You’ is released on January 13 and you can listen to new track 'On Hold'.
