The Warehouse Project launches WHP Records with independent label Disorder
The new imprint’s first release comes from Bakey with his debut album
The Warehouse Project has announced the launch of its flagship record label, WHP Records, in partnership with independent imprint Disorder.
This new club-focused label has already enlisted Leeds-based artist Bakey on the release of his debut album. The WHP resident’s lead single, ‘Wouldn’t Believe’, is out today (July 19), with more details on the album still to be announced. Check it out below.
WHP Records has shared that it is planning to release new music from “noteworthy talent” throughout the year.

Disorder Records was launched in 2023 by the former President of Ministry of Sound, David Dollimore, with a mission to work with DJs, producers, artists, brands and labels.
Now, just over six months later, the independent label is working alongside The Warehouse Project on their latest venture.
Founders of The Warehouse Project, Richard McGinnis and Sam Kandel, explained: “Since WHP started in 2006, our passion has been to work with artists in a meaningful, impactful way and create these once-in-a-lifetime dancefloor moments."
“With the advent of WHP Records and the partnership with Disorder, we unlock a whole new way of doing that and this album project from Bakey feels like exactly the right place to start."
Dollimore also explained: “WHP Records will serve as the incubator for emerging and exciting talent from around the world, creating a powerful ecosystem where live will feed into recordings and building fans.

Yesterday, July 18, Sacha Lord announced that he will be stepping back from his roles at The Warehouse Project and Parklife after 20 years. Lord co-founded WHP alongside Kandel and McGinnis in 2006, with the debut event held at Bodington's brewery in Strangeways, Manchester.
In his statement, Lord explained that the decision means he can spend "more time" on his role as Night Time Economy Advisor to Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, as well as his position as Chair of the Night Time Industries Association.
