The New Paris Beats Scene

First there was the French Touch. Then Ed Banger. Now there's a new crew who are leading the French electronic scene.

Mixmag went to Paris to meet the artists spearheading the new movement. Centred around the exceptional Nowadays Records, the scene has it's roots in beat making and live performance.

With a passion for everything from the experimental beats of Ninja Tune to pop and rock, each one of the crew has their own inimitable style. From the hazy alt-pop of Dream Koala to the slamming 4/4 of Thylacine, the melodic house of Faker and Superpoze to the hip hop beats of La Fine Equipe, all members have a passion for innovation and musicianship.
