The iconic ‘Saturday Night Fever’ dancefloor is up for auction
And is expected to fetch over $1 million
The light-up dancefloor from the film Saturday Night Fever is going up for auction, giving anyone with enough money the chance to own the iconic piece.
With an expected auction value of at least $1 million, the giant panel isn’t the easiest addition to a home collection as the custom built dancefloor has dimensions of 24 x 16 ft with 250 light components.
Vito Bruno, the owner of the Saturday Night Fever dancefloor and the chief executive of New York-based event planning company AMPM Entertainment, shared how he came to own the piece: “I received a call from a friend telling me that the club was closing and they were auctioning off the contents including the legendary dance floor, so I bought it. I have had the dance floor for a few years now. It’s one of the most recognizable pieces of film memorabilia in history, but I’ve decided it’s time to share it with the world”.
The auction for the dancefloor will take place in Los Angeles from June 26-28 at the Profiles in History Hollywood Auction.
