The Flying Dutch, a multi-city festival that takes place in The Netherlands, has cancelled its July 30 event due to concerns over Avicii not showing up for his performance.

In a statement issued on organizer Alda's site, Avicii's management could apparently not confirm that the DJ would show up for his set, causing the festival to feel the need to cancel the event entirely.

"Our request to Avicii and his management to provide a guarantee of his attendance at our event went to no avail. This uncertainty is unacceptable. We can't do that to our audience," Organizer John Ewbank said.

There were several other artists that were confirmed to perform including Alesso, Steve Angello, John Dahlbäck, Icona Pop and more, leading some to believe that the festival used Avicii's possible absence as a cover for low ticket sales.

Refunds will be issued to ticket buyers for the festival.
