The Discogs app lands on Monday
The world's crates in your pocket
Diggers of the world have been looking forward to the Discogs app for a minute and now it's finally here.
It'll be available for iOS users via the App Store on Monday, with an Android version currently in development (put your name down for updates here).
While the loved online music retail service admits the app doesn't feature every single function of its website – the marketplace experience isn't fully integrated yet, for instance – it has given users a whole bunch of freedom to browse and buy records from the comfort of their phone or tablet.
It's obviously super easy to buy records through the app, but it also allows you to view and manage your Collection both on and offline and check to see if you already own a record (we've all been there). There's also access to the Marketplace price-range as well as the whole Discogs database. Perhaps coolest of all though, is the ability to search for a release in the app by taking a picture of the record's barcode IRL.
See the barcode function in operation in the chill but informative video below and check the full list of features included in the app here.
