Electronic adventurers The Chemical Brothers appear to have smashed it once again as their eighth studio album has slotted in at number one in the midweek charts.

Provided they can hold out in pole position 'til the week's end, they'll be presented with the most impressive of accolades - six number one albums in a row.

As well as the bassy synth floorfiller 'Go' featuring Q-Tip, the album features an extraordinary spectrum of collaborations, including Beck, St. Vincent and Ali Love.

They've already dazzled with live shows at Glastonbury and Sonar and it's no wonder that the electro outfit are making serious waves again.

Utilising technology old and new to master their arsenal of beats, 'Born in the Echoes' is a truly mind-expanding experience that will resonate through the charts, and beyond.

Let's get em to number one. You've got our backing lads.
