The team behind beloved Tottenham venue The Cause has moved on to pastures new over in Hackney Wick.

The crew are now setting up a brand new pop-up venue in East London which will also double as a record store named All My Friends - after the LCD Soundsystem song of the same name.

The space will incorporate a bar, record store, hi-fidelity soundsystem and street food stalls, but no dancefloor as The Cause once did. The venue will instead operate as a bar serving cocktails and local craft beers.

All My Friends is due to open for the first time at the beginning of October from Tuesdays to Sundays and is set to be open "until late" each night.

“Like many of our regulars, Hackney Wick was where the DIY party scene started for many of us,” says The Cause co-founder, Stuart Glen.

“Whilst the area has changed, All My Friends will be a nod to its roots, with a no-nonsense back-to-basics vibe, collaborating with friends we’ve met over the years to showcase local creativity.”

The Cause, first opened by Stuart Glen and Eugene Wild in 2018, quickly became one of the most loved clubs in North London. The venue was forced to close on December 31, 2021, following a planned development of the area.

Since then, The Cause has birthed offshoot parties including a beachside festival at Pontins, Seaside Beano, and a fledgling party series named Possibly Maybe at a "secret East London location”.

The Cause’s new Hackney Wick venue, however, is an ode to the precursor version of the original venue. “The pop-up venue features recycled materials, from both The Cause’s Ashley Road site alongside an outdoor terrace area,” says Glen.

“For those who remember, The London Loft Party, the nomadic invite-only gathering (one of the main pre-cursors to The Cause), you may recognise the terrace from their legendary Halloween and NYE shows where the likes of now superstar Bimini, Barbs and other Adonis regulars performed prior to the club opening.”
