BBC Radio 1 has announced the lineup for its 2018 residencies with a collection of worthy tastemakers set to showcase the best dance music has to offer, “from the underground to the arena”.

Radio 1’s Residency programming incorporates two shows on Thursday nights, taking place between 11pm and midnight. The lineup focuses on cutting edge DJs and producers from the UK and around the world.

This year’s selectors include The Black Madonna, Artwork, James Blake, Mura Masa, TQD (Royal-T, DJ Q and Flava D), Jubilee, Bradley Zero and TOKiMONSTA. These artists will have monthly shows running from January to June 2018

The Black Madonna described how this is a full-circle moment for her career as a DJ:

“There’s no other way to say it. This has been my dream from the very beginning of my life as a DJ. I taught myself to mix, with a box of records that my mother bought me on a small AM college radio station in Kentucky and I couldn’t be more delighted to be here with you all, exploring the ideas and sounds that matter to me most. We still believe!”
