This fully-functional synth will fit in your pocket
Teenage Engineering and Cheap Monday join forces for the The Pocket Operator synth
Teenage Engineering and Cheap Monday have joined forces to create one some of smallest working synths you can buy. Dubbed Pocket Operators, the range is made up of three different flavours of synth - each with a 16 step sequencer. The PO-12 Rhythm is a drum machine with 16 sounds for putting out beats, while the P0-14 Sub deals with the lower end of the sound spectrum. The PO-16 Factory synthesiser completes the range, and it features 16 effects for making a lead sound.
Powered by 2xAAAs each model also comes with a LCD screen, so operation is intuitive. Each unit also has a loudspeaker, but for more private beat-making, each Pocket Operator also has a 3.5mm line in and line out. Cheap Monday and Teenage Engineering also say you'll be able to use more than one Pocket Operator at once, and thanks to synchronisation capability and a range of filters, the Pocket Operators will let you produce your own, quirky tracks.
What's more, Cheap Monday has also designed a range of T shirts to go with the collection.
Each unit will set you back £49 each, and they're available now.
