Swansea Music Venues Working Group has launched its flagship event The Swansea Arena House Party, with proceeds to support local grassroots music venues.

After two years of test events, the Swansea Music Venues Working Group has announced the line-up for its first official event in partnership with Music Venue Trust (MVT).

After drawing a crowd of 2750 attendees at previous events, organisers say they are now hoping to scale future editions.

The Swansea Arena House Party is the first event since the creation of the Swansea Music Venues Working Group, a collaborative group involving multiple music venues across the city, in dedication to boosting the local music scene and creating opportunities for emerging artists in the area.

Venue Director of Swansea Arena, Lisa Mart revealed “In August last year we started monthly meetings with the local grassroots music venues where we started to discuss issues, obstacles and opportunities that we all share – at the first meeting the other city centre venue leaders highlighted just how important the work of the Music Venue Trust was to the GMVs locally.”

Taking place on February, 25 the fundraising goal for the flagship event is £20,000, with tickets priced at £10 — all proceeds will be donated to the Music Venue Trust.

The event will host emerging artists on the main stage, at Swansea Arena, as well as stripped-back “Coffee Shop Sessions,” workshops and more according to a press release.
