The 2018 Brit award for the coveted title category of Best British Male Solo Artist award has been won by grime star Stormzy.

Stormzy's win came as a bit of a surprise, as he was nominated against vocal dance music hater Liam Gallagher and Ed Sheeran, a pop favorite. The win marks Stormzy's very first Brit award. "“Thank God, that’s the reason why I’m here to do what I do," he said on stage for his acceptance speech.
