Stormzy has won a Person of The Year accolade
"I was in a room full of young black kings and queens"
Grime artist Stormzy has received the Person of The Year award from the Oxford University African Caribbean Society.
Taking to social media, he shared a series of elated images on his Twitter (seen above), as well as posting this heartfelt statement on his Instagram.
He wrote: “I was in a room full of young black kings and queens who inspire me more than they could even imagine. Our future leaders, CEOs, moguls etc. You lot gas me and motivate me. Let's get it”.
The visit wasn’t his first to Oxford, with his talk at the Oxford Guild last year drawing in over 1,200 student applicants to see the artist speak and perform. He also donated £9,000 to an Oxford graduate earlier this year, in order for her to pursue a Masters degree at Harvard University.
