Almost a year after saying he'll be stepping away from the big room scene and going underground, news has surfaced of Steve Angello being onboard as an executive music producer for a drama titled The Drop.
With a title like that, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that it's described as being "set in the sexy, nonstop world of Miami's electronic dance music scene", not too dissimilar to Zac Efron flop We Are Your Friends.
The CW TV Network and CBS TV Studios production is centred around a young DJ nearing "ruin" that's given a sense of hope when he meets a "gifted protégé who is female and African-American, both rarities in the EDM world," according to Deadline.
RJ Cutler directs and, with Angello taking care of the music, we wonder whether he'll stray away from the "same sounds" in dance music he bemoaned earlier this year.
