Michael Gordon of New York-based classical collective, Bang on a Can, has issued a remix compilation featuring edits from Squarepusher, Oneohtrix Point Never, Tim Hecker, Jóhann Jóhannsson and more.

The age-old parallel between electronic and classical music is aptly represented in 'Timber Remixed', giving each producer a leading opportunity to tweak Gordon's inventive piece to their own character.

'Timber', in its original form, represents as a transformative, meditative piece with primal sounds and plots of drumming, layered airiness and pulsating volumes. Each remix holds original concepts while adding in breaths of varying emotions.

The 13-track collection of 'Timber Remixed' was recorded by the contemporary group Mantra Percussion, who also offer a 50-minute live performance of the symphony on the release.
