Spotify launches new "industry guidance" site to help artists navigate careers in music

Spotify has just launched a new site which aims to provide guidance and advice to people wanting to advance their careers in the music industry.

The new site, called In Focus, launched on June 1 and has been described as being "like an artist manager in your pocket"

The main areas of focus include connecting with fans, promoting work, creating music, earning revenue as an artist, and getting inspiration.

Each of these areas is packed with advice from the Spotify for Artists team, professionals in the industry, and advice from musical superstars including Olivia Rodrigo, A$AP Ferg, Phoebe Bridgers and more.

It also promises to keep refreshing the features and assets to keep up with the changing music industry and to keep ideas "fresh".

This new site is available and applicable to small artists starting out, artists who are breaking through, and already established artists.

The advice can be as broad as giving tips on how to draw inspiration from surrounding or as specific as to how to work on production chops and personal brand building.

On its website, Spotify says it "built In Focus to address the biggest questions and most important goals we've been hearing from artists engaging with us on social media, through our help center, and in 1-on-1 conversations.

"From these thousands of points of feedback from artists, we organized the site into the 21 biggest focus areas on artists’ minds in the music industry today."
