Splendour In The Grass shares sniffer dog advice
Know your rights if you're caught out
Australia's largest winter festival
Splendour In The Grass has posted advice on what to do if you're approached by a sniffer dog at the North Byron Parklands this weekend.
Under the 'Drugs and Your Rights' section of the SITG website, festival-goers can access information on the best way to minimise harm should they be on the receiving end of some unwanted four-legged love on the way in.
The public service announcement follows confirmation New South Wales Police will again be out in force at the festival, with a "high visibility operation" in place for all three days.
Though still used frequently, drug dog operations in Australia have drawn increased scrutiny from medical experts, politicians and the public in recent times, with support for claims they are dangerous, ineffective and a breach of privacy growing.
Splendour In The Grass, featuring Porter Robinson, Shlohmo, Flight Facilities and Nancy Whang, takes place at the North Byron Parklands this weekend July 24-26.
