Southern California's San Bernardino may ban "rave-style" events

The County Supervisor no longer wants the events in the city

Los Angeles has a long, storied history of edging raves and major electronic music events out of its parameters consistently throughout the years.

After the banishment of Electric Daisy Carnival and, eventually, also HARD events, both Insomniac and HARD have continued to remain as close as possible to Southern California's dance music population by relocating to venues in cities just outside of Los Angeles, like San Bernardino, about an hour east of the city.

San Bernardino County Supervisor Janice Rutherford has announced a new item that will be discussed on May 24 and voted on by the board that calls for the eviction of all "rave-style events" at the San Manuel Amphitheater, where many Insomniac events like Nocturnal and Beyond Wonderland have previously been held.

The suggestion arises from complaints from residents that address noise and increased traffic, as well as concerns about drug use and sales.
