On this special episode of On Rotation, Mixmag co-hosts Valerie and Harrison take a deep dive into SoundCloud and its brand new mini-documentary series called Next Wave.

The series focuses on thriving communities that have been brought together and pushed forward by the SoundCloud platform. The series' first three episodes take a look at Los Angeles' underground rap scene, Toronto's dreamy, R&B-influenced soundscape and finally, the New York-based and politically-fueled Discwoman collective and label.

Before an exclusive chat with Discwoman, listeners will hear from Megan West, the VP of Content Relations at SoundCloud about how the unique platform helps people discover music and further, communities like those showcased in Next Wave. "Helping people discover music is all about access," she explains, before diving into the characters and personalities you'll watch in SoundCloud Next Wave featurettes.

Later in the episode, Harrison and Valerie highlight some standout tracks on the Discwoman label from Zuir, SHYBOI, mobilegirl and DJ Haram.
