SoundCloud introduces 'Albums' format
A new category and system for releases
SoundCloud has just announced that the platform will be introducing an 'Albums' category to the standard creator page.
The new format will be extremely similar to its standing 'Playlists' portion and any current playlists can also be moved to the new 'Albums' section.
The music platform explains that although it was originally designed to share content track-by-track, the natural progression of sharing evolution has moved into 'Playlists' and now 'Albums'.
As an 'Album', a compilation of work will be searchable by users and stored in SoundCloud's homepage 'Collection' tab.
