Sound Industry to host debut conference in March
Eats Everything, Tony Briscoe and Kate Simko feature among the program
Bristol Women in Music, an association which aims to promote the roles, issues, and successes of women within the music industry, has announced plans for a new conference in Bristol next month titled Sound Industry.
A number of prominent UK industry figures will feature across a day-long program of talks, workshops and performances on Thursday, March 30 in Bristol’s Colston Hall.
The program has been curated with the aim to “challenge and inspire individuals working across all aspects of the vibrant musical landscape of Bristol and beyond”. Human issues such as emotional wellbeing, politics, privilege and making the music industry more accessible for diverse demographics will be topics of discussion.
Speakers include Eats Everything, Danielle Moore, Jamz Supernova, Lady Nade and Eva Lazarus, with representatives of music publications, record labels and management companies also featuring.
There will also be DJ and production workshops, hosted by BWiM ‘Mix Nights’ mentors and Tony Briscoe respectively.
Tickets for the conference are priced at £20 (or £15 for students) and can be purchased through dice.fm and tickets.crackmagazine.net.
Closing the day out will be an evening concert performance by Kate Simko + London Electronic Orchestra in Colston Hall’s The Lantern venue, tickets are on sale here. A free after party will take place at the Christmas Steps.
