Soul Clap/ Sphynx
'So Sedated/Azul' (Bastard Jazz)
7/10
A nice double-A side piece of wax here. On 'So Sedated' Soul Clap get to work on the synths and reverb units to create some soaring Jupiter lines and Moog tinkles. There are some nice sultry female vox too, making it one for late-night listening.
Azul goes all 'Sherrick' with classic 80s production that'll have you digging for those Leroy Burgess tracks for a little electro-boogie mix. It's cool, but could do with a smooth male vocal to round it off. Two solid cuts from a decent-looking comp.
