The 18th incarnation of the DJ Awards took place in Ibiza last night, as the great and good of the scene gathered at Pacha to share out 21 accolades.

After the success of his parties at Pacha and also at Destino this summer, Solomun took home the Deep House award, with Vagabundos head honcho Luciano and Hot Since 82 sharing the Tech-House spoils after the vote was tied.

"I'm very honoured to have been celebrated for doing what I think I'm good at," Hot Since 82 told Mixmag after picking up his award. "It feels nice. This was the third year I've been nominated, but the first year I've won."

Elsewhere, Soulistic Music boss Black Coffee won two awards, the first for best Breakthrough act and the second on behalf of South Africa, which was voted Dance Nation of the Year.

But arguably the biggest cheer of the night was reserved for Boston-born production legend Arthur Baker, who was selected as this season's Electronic Music Pioneer.

"I'm still around," Baker said after the event, "I'm still hanging out at clubs. I think that makes me a legend as much as anything else – my ability to hang out! I'm a real fan of the Ibiza clubs. Going out is like research."
