Soho Radio to broadcast a 24-hour live vinyl-cutting marathon
Featuring DJ Yoda and more
Independent online radio station Soho Radio plans to host a 24-hour marathon featuring artists cutting music directly to vinyl.
For the 24-hour session, artist’s will perform live in the studio and have the recordings cut to vinyl in real time using a bespoke vinyl cutting lathe that’s been installed in the studio. The main goal is “to showcase the work of art that is cutting straight to acetate”.
Soho Radio has invited a strong cast of musicians for the session, including DJ Yoda, Andrew Hung, Nubya Garcia and Theon Cross, Kitty and Frank Turner among others. Each artist will cut two tracks each.
Expect an eclectic mix of genres for the duration of the broadcast, which is set to take place November 22 to 23.
