May 5 marks a special holiday for Mexico. Historically speaking, the date commemorates a victory against the French in 1862, but in more modern days, the holiday takes a life of its own. More modern interpretations of Cinco de Mayo celebrations find people carousing - in the wildest, most unabashed of ways - in celebration of Mexican culture.

This year, Los Angeles-based label OWSLA decided to host its own party for Cinco de Mayo. The promise of great music and free food(!) was enough to pack the parking lot of the secret party, announced only two days ahead of the event. Despite warnings of rain, a slew of mega-fans eager to see what surprises the popular collective had in store - and also, with the promise of free tacos and grilled cheeses, who could resist?

The party exceeded expectations with surprise sets from Blaise James, Softest Hard, Oshi, Wiwek and a special back-to-back performance from Getter and label boss Skrillex himself.

Mixmag was in on the action and at the party. Check photos from the show above and watch the OWSLA party in The Lab LA with Aryay below.
