A rich resurgence of New York's Latin spirit
The famed Fania imprint powerfully revived its rich musical legacy last week with its event and pop-up shop, Armada Fania.
The affair took place at The Knockdown Center in the heart of Queens and highlighted the Latin spirit and culture built throughout New York with shining art installations, decades of label catalogs and the sounds of Kenny Dope, Nina Sky and Uproot Andy.
Armada Fania brought an eclectic crowd to a deeply immersive spectacle, with label classics oscillating through the warm, energetic space and classic Latin NYC scenes flowing past the DJ backdrop. Vibrations and positivity saturated the venue, with undeniably stirring tracks and invigorating movement spread wide on the dance floor.
