Skrillex is collaborating with Bruno Mars
And credits his label's success to females on his team
Skrillex has shared insight on how he's handled the music industry in light of success, his own strengths and weaknesses and who he's collaborating with next.
In an interview with Billboard, he pointed out that big companies looking to buy into and control EDM are definitely something to be cautious of. "You have major companies like Live Nation, SFX and Goldenvoice that are constantly at each other’s throats," he pointed out. "That can be a barrier, the politics."
In regards to his label OWSLA, he gave kudos to his young, balanced team of both males and females. "When you empower females on the creative side with a good vision, like shit is just so on fire."
Later, he revealed that he's currently working with Bruno Mars on new music. What the music sounds like, he wouldn't specify, but he did explain that whatever they've got going on is "so fucking different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that's happened before."
