We all know music has the ability to make people tattoo some crazy things on their bodies, but a new company has created tattoos that can actually be played back as real audio files.

Los Angeles-based company Skin Motion have developed a new product they're calling Soundwave Tattoos, which captures an actual audio bit in a visual waveform and is accompanied by an app that scans the tattoo and plays back the sound.

Skin Motion will begin taking appointments for Soundwave Tattoos starting in June of this year.

According to the website, users will be asked to upload their soundbite to the website or app, thus generating the actual Soundwave image which can be taken to a tattoo artist licensed and approved within the Soundwave network. "Artists need to be licensed in order to make sure they understand the limitations of the technology and how that applies to tattoo placement, size, and changes to the design of the tattoo from a simple Soundwave to make it more custom or elaborate on it for the person," it explains. Once the tattoo has been completed, a photo of it will be uploaded back into the app to be processed. Then, those with the app will be able to point their camera at the tattoo and hear the audio played back to them.
