Selects: Point G

France has always had a rich heritage when it comes to electronic music and Point G aka DJ Gregory has been producing some of the best house that's ever emerged from the country for decades.

Gregory Darsa is a wizard when it comes to playing live as we all saw when he made his Lab LDN debut a few weeks. His live set was a flourish of scattered percussion, serene melodies and extended builds and he also has some of the most eclectic dance moves we've ever seen in the office.

He goes in and we absolutely loved it.

At the start of the year, Darsa released 'Point G Live', his first ever digital release which comprises of exclusive renditions of some of his classic tracks alongside a live mix and a wealth of extras within a triple vinyl pack. Basically if you're a fan of Point G or house music, it's an absolutely essential purchase.

To celebrate Point G making the dive into digital territory and after his whirlwind Lab performance, we just had to get a Selects playlist from the master to see what he was digging outside of the clubs.

Unsurprisingly, the house masterclass features some seriously bumping tracks so you can enjoy cuts from Mood II Swing, Jungle Brothers and Lou Reed as you delve into Darsa's record bag.

Early ruff track From Djebali, it’s all about the beat!

Jovonn 'Earson's Key'

The Goldtones Years are Jovonn’s best years, definitely a must have compilation, I can’t recommend it enough.

Jungle Brothers 'Behind the Bush'

The very first Jungle brothers album, it's still relevant today! One of the best albums ever in my opinion among 1st tribe called Quest and Run DMC LP

33 1/3 Queen ‘Searchin'

Hardcore Vogueing for the Masses!

Kenny Dope 'Navigate' (Liquid Dope)

Wired Faya Groove from the Master of Beats - amazing record.

Lee "Scratch" Perry & The Upsetters 'Crab Yars'

SUN SUN SUN : )

Dollar Brand/Abdullah Ibrahim 'The Pilgrim'

Mystic Jazz by Dollar brand in his African period, absolutely magic!
