Selects: MK

So far in our Selects series, we've looked into the record bags of some of the world's biggest DJs. Danny Daze, Mr G and Steve Angello have all taken part and we've had an insight to what makes some of our favourite selectors tick both in the booth and in their living rooms.

Next up is house hero MK and Marc Kinchen is one of the most in-demand DJs in the world. Not only does he play to sell-out crowds wherever he goes, he's managed to infiltrate the charts with his sun-drenched strain of house music. Be it overseas in America or around Europe, MK is one of the slickest around.

His Selects playlist takes a look at what he's currently playing right now and if you like your dance music with an abundance of bounce then look no further. Tracks from Waze & Odyssey, Camelphat and Jody Barr are sandwiched between a wealth of the producer's own high-flying remixes, making this essential listening for anyone who wants a slice of MK from the comfort of their headphones.

MK & Becky Hill - Piece Of Me (Extended Mix)

This song is really fun for me to play, as it’s my new single that just released. I’ve been secretly dropping it in my sets over the last 6 months and have not been able to tell anyone what it was. But a lot of people guessed, it’s pretty hard not to recognize Becky’s voice and my sound is a bit of a hint too.

Tiga - Planet E

I love this track. I just finished my remix this week, what a dope track and Hudson Mohawke is a great idea for a feature.

Rufus du Sol - Say a Prayer For Me (MK Remix)

They are definitely my new favourite group. I love their sound and the vocals have done me in, it’s such a groove song.

Diplo and Sleepy Tom - Be Right There (MK Remix)

The original has a great retro feel, but also has a very present sound to it. I was really happy to do this remix, that vocal kills me.

Ellie Goulding - On My Mind (MK Remix)

I love Ellie Goulding. This song is so great to begin with, it was easy to remix.

ada - Unsympathy

Absolutely love this record, it just swings and goes. Such a great tune.

Waze & Odyssey - Bounce

This track does exactly what the name says — it makes you want to bounce. Always a great reaction when I play it out.

Camelphat - Constellations

A mainstay in my DJ sets, these guys are one of my favourite artists.

MK - Bring Me To Life (MK Dub IV)

This might be the least known of the remixes for my single Bring Me To Life, but it’s my favorite. I like to keep tweaking my tracks and mixes as I go along, and I end up landing on my favorite version that way.

Riva Starr - The Superdope

Love this record. It’s a little dark, but really pumps up the floor just the way I like it. Good choppy vocals, will definitely be a staple in my set for a while.

Jody Barr - Room 108 (Original Mix)

Another very deep track. When I drop it, even if it’s really late into the night, people just love it.
