Selects: 50 Weapons by Benjamin Damage
Benjamin Damage curates the essential 50 Weapons playlist...it's hard
When 50Weapons, the heavy-artillery techno imprint helmed by Modeselektor, announced that it would be shutting up shop at the end of 2015, we were all pretty gutted.
Although we knew it was coming, it still didn't soften the blow and in true hardcore style, the imprint embarked on a farewell mission of epic proportions.
The last batch of EPs to be released via the label came from the likes of Marcel Dettmann, The Zenker Brothers, Margaret Dygas, Shed and of course Gernot and Szary themselves.
We thought it would be best to start 2016 by looking back at the stellar work the label did and who better to take us through the imprint's best releases than one of their shining lights, Benjamin Damage.
Damage has been with the label since the early days, experimenting with his sound and climbing the ranks alongside 50Weapons' surge in popularity. He released his second album, 'Osbisdan', last year and it garnered critical acclaim across the board for its challenging, intelligent and often unrelenting sound.
Take a listen to the label's essential releases below.
