Secret Garden Party reveals headliners and theme for 2023
Underworld are amongst next year’s headliners
Secret Garden Party has announced the headliners and theme for its 2023 festival after a soaring return this summer.
Next year, the Cambridgeshire event returns on the weekend of July 20-23 for its 21st birthday, this time flaunting a brand new celestial theme: Episode XVII - A NEW HOPE.
News of the next event’s headliners also landed today, unveiling Underworld, The Libertines, and Fat Freddy’s Drop will top the bill at SGP 2023.

Secret Garden Party returned this year to celebrate its 20th anniversary after a five-year hiatus. Running annually from 2004 until 2017, SGP cited meeting maximum potential with the festival as their reason for its closure.
Upon its return in 2022, SGP added new areas and stages to the festival, as well as many beloved features from Secret Garden Party’s past.
“Whilst firmly going back to our roots for next summer's party, we are also boldly going where no party has gone before,” says SGP’s Head Gardener, Freddie Fellowes.
“The Dance-Offs are back, as are Chai Wallahs, Feast of Fools, The Village Circus, The Dog House, and new heroes such as The Provibers with The Vibrary,” he added. “The old Collosillyum is being reimagined and born anew as Circus Maximus.”

He continued: “We’ve signed up celestial sonic innovators and techno pioneers Underworld to headline this caper, with romantic British punk royalty The Libertines, and one of the most celebrated international live outfits, Fat Freddy's Drop. We'll be back.”
Earlier this year, Secret Garden Party announced the release of a documentary charting the history of the festival, titled That Was A Serious Party: How To Grow A Festival, for premiere at this year’s event.
