Schmutz decided to do things the old way when trying to get their music heard before they'd released on a label.

Rather than sending copious emails to any DJs they thought might like their brand of upbeat and energising house and techno, the Northern Irish duo quite wisely handed over a demo CD to Gerd while he was playing in NI. Soon after, they released a 12" on his label 4Lux and that was that.

Their 'Peelers' EP followed on Dirt Crew Recordings, a five-tracker teeming with intensity and whirling grooves, with their next release coming on Omnidisc.

'Blue Dust' is taken from the 'Transgender' EP and sees them deliver a sleepy house creeper. Subtle bells ring, percussion rattles and there's a whole load of twisting and turning for some nearing-the-end-of-the-night dancefloor movements.

The 'Transgender' EP is released on October 5
