Watch 'The Anthem' for Rio Olympic Games 2016
First aired in Korea, the advert hopes to break down geographical borders
Samsung, Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category has debuted their official advert in support of its Rio Olympic Games campaign. 'The Anthem' is the the TV and Digital ad that unites nations together by combining segments of their anthems brought to life by fans and athletes.
The advert has Samsung’s Galaxy S7edge throughout, with the beginning of the ad opening with a young Australian girl singing a line from Botswana’s national anthem into the phone. Travelling all across the world, the phone is used for fans and athletes to sing lines from different national anthems, showcasing the phones technology for breaking down geographical borders.
There are six athletes that are featured throughout the advert, including British diver and bronze medalist Tom Daley as well as French Paralympian Arnaud Assoumani.
Samsung began it’s campaign for the Rio Olympics by showcasing a short documentary film 'A Fighting Chance' which features four Olympic hopefuls from diverse countries pushing themselves to create a real name for their country. The whole idea of their campaigns are centered on athletes who never give up and defy barriers.
Social and digital content will show the athletes, such as Tom Daley in the run up and throughout the Rio 2016 Olympic Games games to help fans connect with what it means to 'Do What You Can’t'.
