After last year's blistering album as DJ Dodger Stadium – alongside fellow Body High owner Jerome LOL – Los Angeles resident Sam Griesemer's stepping up with a debut solo LP. We already knew his capabilities thanks to banging house cut 'Drive Time' and icy crooner 'Open', and this album proves he can deliver the goods on a larger scale. A look at some of the track titles – 'Baby Don't Stop', 'Begging Please', 'What Can I Do' – and it's clear this one was inspired by heartbreak and a fading relationship. But where this theme could have led to 10 tear-inducing cuts, hyperactive synth work, gospel-like vocals and dancefloor-suited percussion ensure the feeling of lost hope is given a buoyant remedy
