Community collective and record label Saffron and Black Artist Database (B.A.D.) are collaborating on a series of music production workshops for women, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people across the world.

The three-month-long series will be based online alongside Saffron’s online members club, Tech Dissect.

Launching this month, B.A.D. will have a host of its collaborators run workshops including Nairobi-based artist Coco Em as well as its co-founder NIKS.

The website explains that these workshops are designed to “support individuals of all experience levels to build confidence, community and technical understanding of music creation using Ableton Live” with a free version of the software available to download.

No previous experience using Ableton Live is required and the first session will start on January 31 as an introduction to the software. After that, participants will later create their own tracks.

The workshops are free for members of Saffron’s online community, and for those who aren’t registered tickets are priced at £8.30.

All workshops will be held via Zoom lasting around 90 minutes and run at 7:30 PM GMT.
