Sadiq Khan’s Nightlife Taskforce calls on Londoners to contribute to research

London’s first-ever Nightlife Taskforce, launched by Mayor Sadiq Khan in February, is calling on Londoners and those interested in the capital’s nightlife to contribute to new research.

The taskforce is urging for help in “shaping London’s future” by taking part in research and sharing opinions on the state of nightlife in the capital.

The research is set to be carried out by VibeLab, and aims to develop the taskforce’s recommendations for a “safe, inclusive, vibrant and sustainable nightlife”.

“We know London’s nightlife means so much to all those involved, which is why we want to hear from as many people as possible about their experiences and hopes for the future,” says Cameron Leslie, chair of the London Nightlife Taskforce and co-founder and director of fabric.

“From late-night workers and those who regularly enjoy our pubs and clubs, to artists, venue owners or people who haven’t been out in years, we are looking to absorb your ideas, thoughts and feedback on London’s nightlife from the things that you love to how it can change for the better.”

The London Nightlife Taskforce was formed earlier this year by Sadiq Khan to address challenges facing nightlife in the capital, and is made up of members including NTIA CEO Michael Kill, UK Hospitality CEO Kate Nicholls, External Affairs Manager for the Music Venue Trust, Sophie Brownlee.

The group also includes the likes of Pxssy Palace founder Nadine Noor, co-founder of Dialled In Festival and founder of Daytimers collective Provhat Rahman, founder of Colour Factory and co-founder of JUMBI, Nathaneal Williams, amongst others.

The taskforce also has access to an advisory group with representatives from the Metropolitan Police, councillors, and Transport For London (TFL).

By gathering research and data, the taskforce hope to “explore challenges, levers, and potential solutions” for London’s nightlife before presenting their findings and recommendations to the Mayor.
