This spring will see the release of a documentary, 808, about the Roland TR-808 drum machine.

Made by Atlantic Films (an offshoot of Atlantic Records) and You Know Films, its trailer surfaced at the end of last year but it's now been revealed that it'll exclusively be available on Apple Music and iTunes. A select bunch of cinemas in the United States will then be showing it.

Explaining the choice to give Apple the exclusive, Atlantic Records' CEO said: “It’s only appropriate that a film about a machine that revolutionised how music is made be seen via a service that revolutionised how music is consumed.

“The story of how the 808 changed the face of modern music is simply extraordinary, and the Apple Music audience is perfect for this compelling film.”

Damon Albarn, Fatboy Slim, Goldie, Tiga and 808 State all feature and you can watch the trailer below.
