New Roland plug-in can add 80s sounding synth to your music

You can now recreate vintage Roland synth sounds with a new Roland plug-in, which was announced by the music technology company last week.

The newly released standalone DAW plug-in, called JUNO-60 Chorus, is available through Roland Cloud, and its aim is to emulate the sound of the iconic JUNO analogue synth.

The plug-in includes the original I and II chorus types, which may be used alone or in combination to create a new third chorus choice.

The first chorus mode gives the music a subtle glimmer, while the second provides a deeper, broader impression. Users may also adjust the noise level, wet/dry balance, and master level to their preferences.

As said in a press statement, the original Juno 60 was "specially tuned to enhance the synth’s single DCO, fat sub-oscillator, and characterful VCF."

“The massive swirling sound of the JUNO-60 Chorus has captivated musicians for decades and helped define the sound of the ‘80s,” says Roland. “Now, using the JUNO-60 Chorus plug-in, you can tap into this effect and make any instrument or track in your DAW sound bigger and better.”

The plug-in is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats, with native Apple Silicon compatibility.

JUNO-60 Chorus is available as a Lifetime Key or as part of Roland's Cloud membership package, which bundles all of the company's software instruments and plug-ins into the Roland Cloud Manager for fast access to new releases and the company's entire software library.
