Rihanna's turned down the Super Bowl halftime show in support of Colin Kaepernick
Fans will get Maroon 5 instead...
As reported by US Weekly, Rihanna reportedly turned down the chance to perform at Super Bowl LIII (53) in support of former San Fransisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's protest against police brutality.
A source said: “The NFL and Fox really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta. They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance. She supports Colin Kaepernick".
Rock outfit Maroon 5 will be performing at the halftime show in her place.
The quarterback has filed a collusion grievance against the NFL, alleging that he is being denied a contract for his lead role in the anti-police brutality protests.
