Rework

We love Meant Records. If you want classic sounding electro with a French spin, then the imprint ran by Remain never fails. Rework is responsible for the latest release on the label and the 'Hardcore' EP is as stylish as it is danceable. The title-track is a slowed-down ballad with glitzy, grand synths and melancholic vocals and we can see it being featured in a film about love and loss. Pretty specific brief but you get the idea. The other original tracks are aimed more at the dancers, 'Too Forward' is a textbook electro roller and 'Candy and Kong' is a shifty and mischievous banger. ClickBox's 'Mental' remix of the latter does what it says on the tin and the BALD edit of 'Too Forward' adds in more percussion and mechanical riffs than its predecessor. Good stuff once again.
