RecordReplay shares video mix series
A DJ + a second-hand record shop + £10 = one unique mixtape
RecordReplay has begun a video series with the ultimate selector challenge: a DJ is given £10 to spend in a second-hand record shop to create an hour-long mix.
Tastemaker and journalist, Bill Brewster, is the first DJ to take part in the series. The clip below shows Bill digging deep at London's Love Vinyl store, before completing the task of sewing together what he calls “a well-tailored suit made out entirely of 20p records”.
The man behind the series is DJ and radio host Ben Gomori and forthcoming episodes will feature DJs Giles Smith and Jackmaster.
Gomori said: “There are few clubs or festivals worth their salt that Bill Brewster hasn't played at over the years, and with his erstwhile role as a historian of dance music culture, he makes for an incredibly keen-eyed record digger. It's an honour to have him launch our series”.
