AVANT/GARDE is a label dedicated to innovation and unearthing artists from all manner of backgrounds.

Since debuting in 2014, the imprint has found inventive ways to release music, including coupling a recent EP with a Japanese glitch-art zine, and has clocked up outings from artists spanning from the tip of Europe in Sweden, right across and the continent, and down into North Africa with Morocco-based producer Eye Surface.

The London-based label’s next outing is an EP titled ‘Waveless’ from a new Lithuanian duo known as Rebel Army. It features two tracks of expansive, soaring electronica, with a final more broken cut rounding out the tracklist, marking another discovered gem to add to the rich roster of AVANT/GARDE producers.

The release arrives fronted with some surreal artwork from Australian visual artist Tim Shaw. Describing the concept, he said: “For this particular project, the image is focused on a central character bathing in light from above. This is you, the listener of the music in your surreal inner world, and the light is Rebel Army’s music coming to you from a place beyond your control.”

Title-track ‘Waveless’ is our favourite from the EP. It combines the disparate textures of swelling bass and delicately acrobatic synth lines to form a powerful big-room anthem. Check out the premiere below.

‘Waveless’ is out on October 5, pre-order it via Bandcamp
