The Lab is our weekly office rave up where we live stream some of the biggest and best names in dance music from genres across the board. After Preditah, Visionist, Slackk and Novelist killed it earlier in the year, we decided to return to the UK sound of grime. For this installment we welcomed the sounds of Butterz records, a label that is truly leading the way in the genre. Representing on the day was Elijah & Skilliam, Royal T, Flava D and Spooky..

Elijah & Skilliam, the top dogs of label, have been responsible for releasing tracks by the likes of Swindle, Terror Danjah, Champion and loads more. Coupled with a consistent string of emphatic sets, one of the best grime shows on the airways every Sunday on Rinse FM and a brilliant mix compilation for Rinse and now Fabric, the two are at the forefront of the genre.

Spooky is one of the most well respected DJs throughout grime and garage, frequently working on radio stations such as Heat FM, Rinse and BBC 1Xtra. He's the man behind grime anthem 'Spartan' and also heads up his own label Ghost House Records.

Royal T and Flava D make up the rest of the Butterz family come Friday. Both featured on the latest release on the label 'On My Mind' which was released earlier this year and both combine instrumental grime and garage to full effect so expect exactly that come Friday afternoon.

You can re-watch below or on MixmagTV.

After the lab the full Butterz crew head to Fabric to support Elijah & Skilliam's Fabriclive compilation out Monday.
