Raves ranked as UK's favourite New Year’s Eve activity in new study
According to analysis of Google Analytics findings, raves ranked higher than clubbing, concerts, and casinos
Raves have been ranked as Britain’s number one New Year’s Eve activity, according to a new study from ticketing platform SeatPick.
The study analysed monthly Google search entries in the UK for New Year’s Eve activities spanning clubbing to opera events, finding that raves are the most in-demand form of entertainment on NYE.
NYE raves were searched an average of 598 times a month in the lead up to the end of the year, with cinema screenings coming in second with 459 average searches, according to ATV Today,

Meanwhile, clubs had an average of 245 monthly searches, concerts 220, and casinos 113. Other activities ranked in the top 10 include live music events, fancy dress parties, festivals, spa experiences, and opera.
The study aimed to analyse online search habits and event trends around the end of the year, finding that the UK public now seemingly favours a night of partying over other forms of entertainment.
The data also found that club events were the most-searched activity in areas like Luton and West Bromwich, while concerts ranked on top in Rotherham and Worthing.

“New Year’s Eve has become far more than a traditional night out,” says SeatPick’s chief executive, Gilad Zilberman (via ATV Today). “It’s now a reflection of how people choose to connect and celebrate.”
Last year, a survey from PRS found that nearly half of Brits (42%) planned to celebrate NYE, with one in seven opting for a bar or pub. Data showed that this figure could see Brits spend up to £505 million on nights out for New Year’s Eve alone.
