To celebrate 20 years of operation, the left-of-center imprint and "artistic platform" Raster-Noton, has initiated ‘White Circle’, "an acoustic architectural space designed as an audio-visual installation". ‘White Circle’ falls in line with the imprint’s typically expansive take on club spaces with a number of affiliates such as Alva Noto, Byetone, Kangding Ray and Frank Bretschneider on hand to contribute original music for the event.

The German label, founded by Frank Bretschneider, Olaf Bender and Carsten Nicolai in 1996, has a been a seminal figure in the development of glitch and sound-design oriented electronic dance music for around two decades now. Carsten Nicolai (aka Alva Noto) was revealed to have co-scoring credits on the Oscar-nominated film The Revenant with former Yellow Magic Orchestra member and proto-techno pioneer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

‘White Circle’, featuring 47 speakers controlled by the special software control Zirkonium, will take place at the ZKM museum in Karlsruhe, Germany, on March 11, 2016. It'll also feature performances by the three Raster-Noton artists Kyoka, Frank Bretschneider and Kangding Ray to produce a multichannel sound work for the immersive 4DSOUND system.
