Radiohead unveil 'A Moon Shaped Pool' special edition vinyl in unboxing video
Bonus tracks, artwork and superbly rare memorabilia
Special edition issues of Radiohead's ninth studio album, 'A Moon Shaped Pool', have started shipping out to fans today.
To commemorate the release, the band has shared an intriguing new video via its Twitter. The ambiguous presentation is a 55-second clip of the elusive Cheiftan Mews unboxing the vinyl set.
The unique installment includes a book housing 32 pages of artwork by cover designer Stanley Donwood, plus two records and compact discs featuring bonus tracks. The style of encasing was inspired by the vintage 78 RPM shellac records found in the library of La Fabrique, the iconic Saint-
The whole set neatly packages into itself and comes fashioned closed with an extremely rare audio reel cut, labeled "DO NOT DISCARD". The sealing medium offers three-quarters of a second of a random recording, one which could have been taken from any era of Radiohead's work since 2000's 'Kid A'.
A major collector's item, for sure.
