Producergirls founder E.M.M.A. and Glaswegian DJ Nightwave are teaming up with Ableton on March 4 to host a beginners' music production workshop for women at SWG3.

The workshop will give girls who have an interest in learning music production tips, expert advice and access to Ableton Intro software. There will also be an Intersessions DJ workshop taking place on the same day, with Chippy Nonstop and Betty, among others (this will be open to everyone).

E.M.M.A.. said: “We're really keen to encourage more women to see music production as a creative outlet - no matter where they live in the UK - it can't just exist in London to make a difference - especially when there is appetite around the globe for fun, free, supportive skill sharing. I'm very excited to be going to Glasgow and have local hero Nightwave on board. She's the ideal person to learn tips and tricks from. This couldn't have been possible without the generosity of SWG3 and Ableton.”

Nightwave said: “Doing a production workshop in Glasgow has been my dream for a long time. I did a DJ workshop for young girls in 2015 but never quite had the time and resources to put on anything bigger. I'm so happy I met E.M.M.A. and that we can join forces with Producergirls to share knowledge and teach beginners everything they need to know to get started.

“I think connecting and building one big support network is key. This is why we also added the Intersessions DJ workshop to the same Glasgow date (started by Chippy Nonstop). Chippy, Rebecca Vasmant and myself will be teaching 30 participants (from 6pm on the day, keep an eye out on Facebook for more details). Last but not least-we have organised one big after party at Broadcast!

There are only 15 spaces available for the Glasgow session and applications close on February 24. You can apply here and find out more about Producergirls here.
