Opening a brand new room this autumn, Printworks has announced the addition of Inkwells, a low-ceilinged space in the heart of the iconic industrial venue.

Unveiling the new room on September 17 alongside the official reopening of the autumn/winter season, Inkwells sits directly below the illustrious 6,000 square-metre Press Halls dancefloor.

Printworks, which perches on the Thames dip of Rotherhithe, has yet to reopen since the beginning of the pandemic. For the first time in over two years, the venue will open its doors next month for a re-opening party across September 17, 18, and 19.

Broadwick Live’s Managing Director, Bradley Thompson, spoke about the new room: “As we prepare to open our doors again, it’s exciting to announce another evolution in the Printworks story.

“As a business, we are committed to constantly bettering the experience for all our guests across our venue portfolio and the addition of the Inkwells allows us to programme even more incredible artists and talent for the upcoming Printworks London season and beyond.”

The new room will add an extra capacity to the 5,000 person dancefloor, giving off the industrial overtone that regulars have come to know and love from the venue. Concrete pillars, raging soundsystems and a raw, stripped-back aesthetic.

Four years in operation, the London venue has seen countless artists since its inauguration in 2017. The line-up is yet to be announced for this year’s AW21 season but is promised to drop on August 10.

Tickets to Friday and Saturday’s opening nights at Printworks are now sold out, however, Sunday tickets are still available. Sign up for Printworks AW21 here.
